Hey everyone! Melissa here, with my last (and favorite) Moxxie All Hallow's Eve blog post. I've had a blast working with this line and often times felt so overwhelmed by ideas, that I wasn't sure where to start. I hope my posts this month have encouraged you all with darker inclinations and the sense of fun Moxxie's line has inspired in me. I wish you all a very frightful Halloween season and it's been great hearing from you.
Moxxie's stickers are a font lover's dream. I love using creepy fonts in my work - it's a finishing touch that matters so much when it comes to darker designs. Look at the old horror movie posters to see what I mean! A font can express swamp creatures, vampires, even zombies. You know when you see certain letters, in a fabulous drippy or scratched out font, you are in for a fright!
I color coordinated each card to its matching gift tag by using the same variety of stickers, stamps and die cuts. I distressed it all in black ink and added small touches of embossed black paper to glamorize things a bit. Using the stamps on Moxxie's distressed, colored card stock allows you to choose the mood of your design by stamping with a child-friendly stamp, or something a little spookier. You can even add charms or another phrase in that color block if you prefer. I like to go a little overboard with the ribbons and bows on my tags too - it makes it all look a bit unruly. :-)
These sets would be great to add to a gift tray of Halloween goodies or a pretty cellophane candy bag selected for the special kids in your neighborhood. String them all together to make a garland, or set them out on your Halloween tablescape or mantle as a decoration. The possibilities are endless - which is why I'm off to make more tags!
Happy Halloween to you and yours,
