This year I decided to make a calendar for my kitchen. It is not one you write anything on, it just has the days for a reference. I absolutely love to make calendars so....I made three. I will probably give one to my somewhat LSS to hang as a sample and I will keep one for my fridge and I will give the other to someone special. (Not sure who yet. LOL)
I purchased three sets of SRM sticker calendar this year and decided I had better get working. There is nothing worse than creating a calendar in June or July when half the year is gone. So, I stared at these stickers for a long time and I had several ideas in mind for them but I went to Pinterest for even more inspiration.

I found this post and it was exactly what I was looking for. Isn't it cute? I wanted to use Moxxie paper of course but the idea is what I was looking for.
I headed over the our local thrift store and found three frames. I spray painted two of them black but I wanted mine to be brown. I had to do a little work before I could paint them. They had a sheen to them so I sanded and then put some wood putty in the corners that were coming apart. I also removed the pieces of metal that hold the glass in place.
I pre-cut all of the little strips of paper and cut out rectangles of a neutral color cardstock for the "tag" part. I used Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge to cut them. My rectangles are 2 1/2 X 3 1/2. I also had a ton of these little clips in different colors so I picked them to match the lines. Then I rounded up some embellishment to add as well.
Putting together the calendar pieces was so fun. I think they really turned out cute. Here are the little calendars pieces done using the Road to Recovery line.
Then my husband was kind of enough to help me add these little eyelets to the sides of the frames so I could add 3 pieces of wire across the open part of the frame.
Then I clipped the calendars to the wires. I added heavy duty magnets to the back of mine and placed it on the side of the fridge. Now I have a calendar reference in the kitchen and I love it. By the way, I loved them so much I kept two. I have the first one below using the Chillin Out line on my fridge and I kept the one made from Forever Family with the brown frame upstairs in my Craft room. See...I told you I could have them everywhere!
Here are the completed projects!
Have a great day!
Until next time,
Michelle
