Here in the US we are about to celebrate our Independence. This Friday the vast majority of Americans will be heading to parades, fireworks displays, firing up the grill, and spending a long weekend with family. We fill our day with constant activity and lots of food. We also take the time to feel the emotion behind the day. I have found, as I've gotten older, that Independence Day fills me with pride. I catch myself shedding a tear at parades and when I watch my children being to young and carefree. I appreciate the sacrifice so many made to make this country what it is today, and I know I'm not alone.
Today I want to share a layout that features a photograph I took on Memorial Day. That is another holiday that honors the memory of all of our soldiers and veterans. Every year we go to a place called Field of Heroes. It's row upon row of American flags. The kids love walking throught it. I used Hometown Celebration for this.
I shared how I made the title on this layout in another blog post, which you can find here if you like it!
