First Day 2 Page Layout and Sketch w/ Muse Samantha

I wanted to do a little something different today and share a sketch with you.  Not only did I create a 2 page layout from the sketch, but I created 2 layouts from the sketch to show how small changes can make lots of layouts that look quite different (even if you use the same paper collection!).

It's that time of year: back to school!

 

 

  I used the sketch and Moxxie's Brainiac to scrap my 1st grader's first day of school.  I am absolutely in love with this school themed collection.  There are a wide range of colors and patterns that manage to be cohesive yet extremely versatile. 

 

 

I tend to see (and use) sketches as a starting off point.  They're more of a suggestion than an exact blueprint.  A way to get my creativity going.  Even when I create the sketch, I don't follow exactly.

 

 

For this layout, I kept pretty close to the sketch, but changed up the layers on the title and embellishments by the journaling a bit. I also changed things up by mirroring my green and orange patterned papers instead of using all green for the background and all orange for the photo base layer.
