Hey there everyone! It's Renee from Scrap Owl (www.scrapowl.com) with a fun new page using the awesome Moxxie Racing collection. This is a layout I did capturing the excitement of a go-kart rematch between my nephew and myself during our recent vacation. You see, I took him DOWN the first time and he hasn't been able to live with it, so
If you've ever visited my site, you know I'm all about honesty, so I'm going to reveal something to you that I might get in trouble for, but here it goes. I didn't like this line when I first saw it. Nope, it wasn't my favorite. It surely wasn't something that I would have gone into my local scrapbook store and picked out on my own. But, and I think you'll agree, now that I've had a chance to create with it - WOWZA - I'm loving it!
The Racing patterned paper is the foundation for the layout. To add a little bling, I glitzed up the "Racing" design with a little bit of sparkle embossing powder. Then, I matted my photo on the b-side of the Moxxie Motorcross patterned paper and the b-side of another sheet of the Moxxie Racing patterned paper. I layered the pennants from the Racing Cardstock Stickers over the black and white striped washi tape from my stash. This layout is titled "Rematch" using the Moxxie White Alpha Stickers.
Using the b-side from the Moxxie Racing Cutouts, I created the checked flag by cutting a fishtail banner and then wrapping it around a toothpick (and a fancy toothpick at that!). I think the addition of the checkered flag adds some great dimension.
The too cute 3x4 card is also matted using the Moxxie Racing Cutouts b-side. It's funny, but this card perfectly sums up our racing experience! Every time I would get my car going, I would run it into the wall or give it too much gas and have it stall. That's just one more reason why I have started to like this collection more and more. It captures exactly what you feel - it captures the racing experience.
The moral of the story? Try it Mikey, you might just like it! Seriously though, just like that shirt hanging on the hanger in your closet, you aren't going to know if you really like it until you try it on. Sometimes crafting is the same way. You may not know exactly how you are going to use a page right away, but once you add your own sense of design and style, you may just find a side of your crafty talent you didn't know existed.
Stay Scrappy My Friends!
Totally Awesome !
