Hello Springtime!
Right, it's Spring? I hope we can be sure now. I'm ready for warm weather, flowers, and sunshine! That gets me to the project I have to share with all of you today.
This is me and my little man. Isn't he a cutie? We are enjoying the glimpses of Spring and there's no better way to scrap these memories than with Moxxie's Springtime line. It's just beyond gorgeous!
I paired the collection with a puzzle board that I picked up at my local craft store. After spray painting the base and pieces gold, I covered a few of the pieces with the b-side of Moxxie's Songbirds (actually, I used the remainder of what I had left from under the a-side), and the b-side of Moxxie's Take Flight. Once I attached the paper to the puzzle pieces, I sanded the edges and inked them with Peeled Paint Distress Ink from Ranger for a more polished look.
For the base of the layout, I used that a-side of the Songbirds (top half) and the a-side of the In Bloom (bottom half). For a bit of dimension, I distressed the edge of the In Bloom and inked it with the Peeled Paint Distress Ink.
All the stickers and cut outs used in the layout are also from the Moxxie Springtime collection. To add some shine, I applied Glossy Accents to the butterflies and the song bird. It's a small touch, but when it hits the light, it makes a huge difference.
I hope you like this project! It was a lot of fun to put together and (I think) well worth the effort. Now, I just need to find a place on my wall to hang it!
Stay Scrappy My Friends,
this is so interesting to look at.
Using the puzzle board in such a unique way is inspiring. I want to try it now!
