Bowling Fun with Mary Pat

Hi Everyone,

One of my favorite things about Moxxie is there sports collections!  I live in a household with 3 guys and they all LOVE their sports.  One of the things we love to do as a family is to go bowling and Moxxie has THE most amazing bowling paper EVER!  Bowler Up is just so fun and so on trend right now with the chevron paper.  

This layout literally came together in minutes because the paper is already beautifully embellished witht the bowling pins and ball.  All you have to do is add a photo and you can call it a day.  First, I misted my paper with some blue and red ink.  I then cut out the arrow overlay using my Silhouette.  I matted my instagram photo using some of the awesome Moxxie paper and centered it on my overlay.  I used the stickers to create my title.  Finally I added some washi tape, wood veneer, and a flair badge.  It came together so nicely.  Just love it!

Shootin' Hoops

Moxxie Muse Cathy hosting the blog today.  Sharing a fun layout using Moxxie's Basketball collection.  This basketball collection is so unique..grungey fun and interesting prints that are full of texture!  So cool!

I created this layout with just a few pieces from the collection and a little help from my Silhouette!  I think creating sport layouts is hard work! We all have lots and lots of these type photos and it is hard to find the perfect papers for them.  Moxxie makes it easy, they simply have the best sports collections around.  Their collections are always the perfect match yet they always have unique and fun elements to them.  This layout fell together easily for me, just grab a few Moxxie papers, embellishments and it almost creates itself.

Thursday Greetings crafty peeps! Rhonda here today to host the Moxxie blog.

 

For this project I decided to showcase the TeeBall collection. Today's post features multiple images, yet white space a a bit of fun with patterns.

 

I took a series of photographs of our boys playing ball in the backyard and decided to create a bit larger collage of them. These were printed scaled to 8x10, but when I cropped it the final size was 6x6. This resulted in a nice size for balancing a page without feeling cramped.

I matted my photo onto this very cool patterned paper:

See how it changed in appearance as I cropped it to a single block width?

I knew that I wanted some white space in my design, so I kept my accents and embellishments to a minimum. It's fun to play with the design strips sometimes to create your own look.  Here is the sheet of design strips.  

Do you see the ones I selected? Practice, practice, practice!  The baseball stitching thin strip, the red t-ball strip and the polka dot thin strip.

 

Once I had my bits and pieces arranged and positioned, I adhered everything and then added my coordinating stickers and rub-ons.  I loved the long border of baseballs that narrowed in size, so I added that to the top of my page.

I added a few extra embellies from my stash like the baseball button:

Track Star

Hi scrappers!  Susie here today with a mixed media layout using Moxxie's Go The Distance collection. It is easy and fun to play with stencils, gesso, modeling paste, and PanPastels!

To start with I pulled out a sheet of Finish Line paper.  I placed the 2 photos where I wanted them then added sticker letters from my stash to create part of the title.

I dry brushed on a thin coat of gesso, covering the stickers and the edges of the pictures.  You can see below that I revealed the black paper underneath when I peeled off the letters.

To replace the letter "A" I chose to use a chipboard star from Want2Scrap.  I inked it and then added clear embossing powder.

I used a Want2Scrap stencil to add the arrows with modeling paste...

...and again with PanPastel.  I added the journaling on top of this area.

The final layer was one of the border strips from the Go The Distance Diecuts.

If you haven't added a little mixed media to your scrapbook pages, I hope I have given you a little inspiration to try something a little different.

Soccer Album with Dana

Hi Moxxie fans!  Dana here today sharing a soccer themed mini album. My girls are playing soccer this summer and I thought a mini album would be a fun way to document their first involvement in a team sport. I used the Moxxie Soccer collection.  I love that the colors of this line are a neutral black and white! I added the accent color of my daughter's teams for a bright pop of color and I embellished the pages with the Soccer Rub-ons.

I created 6 pages for each daughter. One set is shown above.  I kept the design simple for now and may go back and add more embellishments once I have the photos in place.

May Sketch and Scrapping Process

Hi Everyone,

Mary Pat here with you today.  I usually have a sketch for but this month I decided to try something new and I do have the sketch for you but I also made a video of my process and how I made my layout.  In all my posts last year I stated that a sketch is just a starting point and I show you my original sketch and how I kind of changed my layout as I went.  

For my layout today I used the tennis collection.  Moxxie is so known for their famous sports collections and the tennis collection is a hit!  I just love it with the bright colors.

Personalizing Themed Collections with Dana

Hi Moxxie fans! Dana here today showing the versatility of the Basketball collection. I don't have a basketball player in my house, but I do have a musician. The grungy brick and chain link fence patterned papers were perfect for a rock-and-roll page! The On The Court patterned paper added a fun texture and awesome pop of color to my layout.

I used a favorite mask, molding paste and ink to create the music note pattern on this page. I added a bit of grunge with some eyelets and leather cording.

I accented my photos with stickers from the Moxxie Noteworthy collection.

I split my title into two parts in opposite corners of my page.  For the first word of the title I used Moxxie Rub-on Alphas in Red. I also added some star stickers from the older Basketball collection, which shares a similar color palette.

The second word of my title is made from a Basketball Die-Cut. The original design was "All Star!" I cut away the "All" and replaced the space with a button.
