Our Holiday challenge ends tomorrow. Have you entered?
Renee from Scrap Owl is back with you today to share some over 40 birthday fun!
When I was younger I used to love my birthday. It was my favorite holiday of the year! But, if you are anything like me, you have come to see your birthday as a reminder of why that face in the mirror has a few more wrinkles and lines than it did when you were 21. With this in mind, my friend Tamara at
Something Photography has been offering her own spin on the first birthday cake smash!
Of course I used
Moxxie's Very Merry Unbirthday to bring this layout to life. It is the perfect blend of bold, bright, and fun to frame these photos. The foundation of the layout is Moxxie's Very Merry Unbirthday I'm Late. I used elements from the Very Merry Unbirthday Die Cuts to create three embellishment clusters.
Don't you just love the way she changes the numbers around? LOL!
I layered the main photo in order to draw attention to it. I used the b-side of the Moxxie Very Merry Unbirthday I'm late as the base layer, added a cloth square from my scrap stash for some fringe, and then added the a and b sides of the Moxxie Very Merry Unbirthday Curiouser patterned paper. Each is displayed at different widths or angles in order to provide some organized chaos.
There is also some fringe under the smaller pictures on the left side of the layout. I believe that fringe is going to be a huge trend in 2015 so this won't be the last time you see it. Adding fringe is super easy - just grab some fabric and fray it. A little fringe or a lot of fringe is up to you.
I hope this layout makes you smile!
Stay Scrappy My Friends,
