Howdy all! It's Renee from
Scrap Owl with a layout that's fixin' to get your fires burning!
Yee-Haw! My little lady turned two in pure cowgirl style. She had a Jessie (from Toy Story) and Sheriff Callie birthday party. We hosted seven of her best buddies at the local park district's tiny town. It was rootin and tootin!
In order to scrap these memories I turned to the Moxxie
Western Round Up collection. It was perfect to round-up all the fun we had that day. The foundation of the layout is the a-side of Moxxie's Wagon Train, but I cut the Moxxie Urban Cowboy just a half inch on each side and placed it right on top.
Since I knew I had a lot of pictures that I wanted to scrap and a ton to say about the day, I opted to print wallet sized photos and cut them down to 2" squares. I tore a piece of Moxxie's Fancy Filly to anchor all my pictures together and then matted each one with the b-side of the Moxxie Boot Scootin.
I used a white gel ink pen to do the journaling for this page, and I think you'll agree that it just pops right off the dark denim background.
Since I was able to leverage the stitched cowboy hat design of the Moxxie Urban Cowboy patterned paper, I didn't have to go embellishment crazy. My main embellishment is composed of a Sheriff's badge from the party, some "rope", and a fun "Wanted" die cut from the Moxxie Western Round Up Die Cut 12x12 sheet. There is also a little fishtail banner that I made using another piece of the b-side of Moxxie's Boot Scootin.
The rest of the embellishments are from the Moxxie Western Round Up Cardstock Sticker set. I placed some around the individual photos in order to spice them up a bit (like some good ole five alarm chilli, ya'll). However, the "dress up" sticker is not from the Western Round Up collection. Instead, that one is from the Moxxie Filly Collection. (As you can see, this stuff NEVER goes out of style!)
Alright! Now it's your turn! Get out there and get scrappy!
